Former Shelter Losser

Near the Judithhoeve in Losser was a shelter of about 20 meters long and 3 meters wide. Remnants of this are still visible. A sign marks the location. It is also the intention to place a model of what it looked like in the past. The shelter was well camouflaged in the landscape, the wooden walls and ceilings covered with sod and vegetation. During the war it was used by people in hiding and Allied pilots, towards the end of the war it was made available to the domestic armed forces. When these finally came together they turned out to be 33 men strong! The hiding place was easily accessible unseen via the Haagse Bos, where weapons were also stored elsewhere.
