Wood of Freedom

This Wood of Freedom is located next to the cemetery of Geesteren. It is a living memorial to the war victims from Geesteren. Trees have been planted with a sign with the victim's name on it. Across the Needse Tolweg, there is a comparable memorial park for the Jewish Meijers family. They all died in World War II.

In the memorial forest there is also an opportunity for villagers and former residents of Geesteren to buy and plant their own memorial tree.
