Rememberance poles Operation Husky 2018

On the SP 22 from Agira towards Troina just before the small hamlet of Gagliano Castelferrato are some rememberance poles situated on the left side of the road. These rememberance poles were placed during a rememberance tour in the footsteps of the 1st Canadian Infantry Division in 2018. On the rememberance poles are the names of fallen Canadian soldiers who are buried at Agira Canadian War Cemetery.

These rememberance poles are placed on multiple locations in towns where the 1st Canadian Infantry Division has been. They are visible in towns like Piazza Armerina, Leonforte and Nissoria.
