Memorial Kula-Batschka Wiesloch

Batschka is a region in the region on the border between Serbia and Hungary. This region was occupied by the Hungarians in 1941. A German minority, the Donauschwaben, lived in this region. After the occupation by Hungary, the Waffen-SS began to recruit soldiers from among these Donauschwabe.
At the end of the Second World War, the Donauschwabe were interned or expelled.
Some of them have found a new home in the Heidelberg-Mannheim region.
In the cemetery of Wiesloch, a monument commemorates the Donauschwaben of the town of Kula in the Batschka region.
