Dragon's Teeth Barrier Groot Valkenisse

The tank ditch and other barriers that had to stop an attack from the rear ran roughly from Groot Valkenisse, via Koudekerke to Ritthem. The tank ditch was not only used as a barrier, but was also a drinking water basin. To prevent brackish water from entering the tank ditch, a dragon's teeth (Höckerhindernisse) barrier was constructed from the dunes between Groot- and Klein Valkenisse, which connected to the tank ditch that started 500 meters eastwards. In addition to the dragon's teeth, landmines and Czech "hedgehogs" and barbed wire fences were scattered throughout the dunes.
