Information panel Recce Patrol 508th PIR

On October 17th and 18th, 1944 two military from the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment (Corporal Smith and Private Heath) made a long patrol in enemy territory over the river the Linge. During this they also took back to US controlled area some POW's. A number of cycling paths have been given names to remember this recce patrol are placed along the ceveral paths. This plaque at the corner of the Frontlijnpad and Patrouillepad-Zuid, gives information about the complete patrol.
