Just outside Vienna, this bunker was built by Hungarian Jews, Poles and Russian laborers from the Vienna-Floridsdorf satellite camp of Mauthausen. The bunker protected the workers at the Siemens (producing V2 electronic components), the Heinkel-Sud aircraft factory, and the Floridsdorf Oil Refinery. Construction started in the Summer of 1944 and the Air Raid Shelter was completed in Spring 1945. Following the completion of the bunker, the Nazis marched the laborers 120 miles from the satellite camp in Floridsdorf to Mauthausen.
