The cemetery of Suxy contains the war grave of Jean MINET, who fell in the Second World War.
Jean MINET was born in Suxy on April 10, 1911.
He was a soldier with the frontier cyclists 1st Bat 1st Comp.
He was killed in action in Juprelle on 11 May 1940 in air raids in that region.
Next to the nameplate is a memorial stone of his employer:
"To their lamented Jean Minet
Agents and supervisors of the Waters and Forests Inspectorate of Liège"
The cemetery also contains the grave of resistance fighter Willy MOREAUX, born in 1923 and executed on February 17, 1944.
He was a member of a group of French-Belgian resistance fighters: Jean Bombled and Willy Moreaux (Belgians), Marcel Fostanelli, René Pernet and Camille Claudon (French) and René Deschelle, a Moroccan soldier escaped from the Charancy-Vezin camp. They were all between 21 and 28 years old.
On the evening of February 16, 1944, the Saint-Mardois Jean Bombled along with his five unruly companions was arrested by the Germans on the Avenue Bouvier while transporting a van full of weapons. They were transferred to Arlon overnight.
The next day the six returned to Virton to the Feldgendarmerie where a country court had been established. They were tried and sentenced to death for possession of weapons.
