Memorial Complex Bubanj

This site was scene of the execution of more than 12.000 persons (Serbs, gypsies and jews) from February 1942 to September 1944. in 1944, Italian prisoners of war were ordered to dig up the corpses and to burn the corpses of the victims in order to destroy all traces of the atrocities committed there. A memorial complex in memory of the victims was erected here after the war. The three fists are symbolsing the men, woman and children who died here.
