The national monument on Vítkov Hill in the Prague district of Žižkov is a complex that shows several sights from different eras.
For example, there is the huge bronze monument of Jan Žižka, who defeated King Sigismund in the battle of Vitkov Hill in 1420. In addition, there is a ceremonial room, a tomb for the unknown soldier, an exhibition called Crossroads of Czech and Czechoslovak State, a former crypt/mausoleum and more.
The monument was built between 1928 and 1938, in memory of Czechoslovak legionaries who fought in the First World War.
Not unimportant, with the entrance ticket you are also allowed to go to the top of the building, which gives an excellent view of Prague.
