Peace Flame Averbode

This memorial was erected on June 23, 2006 as a grateful memory of
- all victims and veterans of the First and Second World War
- the crew of the Canadian bomber of the RCAF that crashed in Averbode on 4 July 1943
- the crew of the American bomber shot down over Averbode on 17 August 1943
- Corporal Willy Vernelen, victim in the service of Belgium in Kamina (Congo) on 19 July 1960.
Plaque on the monument to commemorate the centennial of the First World War and in memory of the fallen of this war.
