In the town of Lenkimai (near the border with Latvia) near the local church is a small Soviet cemetery from the Second World War. As almost always there are no individual graves but the names of the fallen are mentioned on plaques, in total about 200 names are mentioned here. The plaques are mounted between plates with the Lithuanian text Amžina šlovė kariams (Eternal Glory to the Soldiers) on the one hand and the same text in Russian on the other. The eternal flame has since been replaced by temporary violets.
