Ruhrkämpfer Ehrenmal Essen-Horst

The Ruhrkämpferehrenmal was built in 1934 and is located on the north bank of the Ruhr in the Essen-Horst district. The design was by the architect Paul Dietsch on the initiative of General Lieutenant Oskar von Wattwert. The monument was placed in memory of the members who died in the struggle against the revolutionary workers in the Ruhr area in the years 1918-1920. For the National Socialists this was fine propaganda that was used. The inauguration took place with a march of National Socialists.
