Memorial Four Executed Banneux

This memorial 200 meters next to the N666 commemorates the following four people who were executed by the Germans on 6-9-1944. The reason for their execution was that they were members of the resistance. At this moment in time, the Allies had almost reached Banneux. In the chaos of the retreat and sustained fighting, these captured resistance members were executed.

CLEEREN Roger, age 19 !, resistance member of the Armée Secret, he is buried at the cemetery of Dison.

KURTZ Jean, age 18 !, member of the resistance with the Armée Secret, he is buried in the cemetery of Stembert.

LERMUSIAUX Robert, age 20, member of the resistance with the Armée Secret, he is buried in the cemetery of Andrimont.

THOMAS René, age 24, member of the resistance with the Armée Secret, he is buried in the cemetery of Sprimont.
