Memorial Plate Zehnthofstraße 35

Text on the plate:

"In Memoriam
The Jewish Schmitz/Kamp family lived in house no. 37 since the 19th century.
They were respected citizens of Wollersheim. Reports and stories in particular remind us of their social involvement.
In the dark days when the Nazis had Germany in their bloody clutches, a terrible fate befell the Kamp family because of their faith.
Father Alexander Kamp and son Josef managed to escape to South America before the war.
The daughters Juliane Kamp and Karoline Kamp were taken to a concentration camp by the brown henchmen and died there in 1944 in Poland.
Let us be courageous and defensive democrats so that this can never happen again in Germany.
The citizens of Wollersheim."
