War and Garrison Museum 'De Smederij'
The Platform Military History Ede is housed in building 27 on the former Arthur Kool barracks. The monumental building from 1908 has a beautiful military history and is located next to the horse stables and associated warehouses. 'De Smederij' (the Forge) contained a workshop for the swordsweeper and two workshops for the farriers (smithy), with a fitting shed for the two squadrons of Hussars housed in the cavalry barracks.

With its own military-historical information point, the Platform Military History Ede wants to support battlefield tourism in Ede, provide guided tours, organize exhibitions, receive schools and offer walking and cycling routes. The War and Garrison Museum is also located in De Smederij and the military history of Ede is presented on the basis of two main themes, 'The Garrison Ede' and 'Ede during WW2'.
