Two monuments are located opposite each other on the Tweede Lansiers Regimentenlaan, an avenue divided by a central row of trees.
One, not far from Generaal Jacqueslaan, is dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the Second Lancers Regiment.
It was executed by sculptor Jacques Marin and inaugurated on October 26, 1930.
At the front of the white stone bas-relief is written in the two national languages:
"A Nos Glorieux Heros – To Our Glorious Heroes
2nd Regiment of Lancers – 2nd Regiment of Lancers"
Below are the names of the places where the lancers distinguished themselves: Liège, Antwerp, Beveren, Roeselare.
On the back of the memorial:
"The 2nd Lancer Regiment
To his glorious
Heroes 1914-1918"
On the back would be the names of the soldiers who fell in the plot, but these are now no longer legible or visible.
