The Nécropole nationale de Dannemarie contains nearly 400 French soldiers, 250 in individual graves and 139 divided into two charnel houses. These soldiers died during the First World War.
The necropolis was built on the communal cemetery and then expanded from 1922 to 1924 with bodies exhumed from temporary military cemeteries, such as those of Gildwiller or Moosch.
