Mullberry Bridge Part Veckring

Mullberry Bridge Part Veckring

This is one of the bridge sections originally used in Arromanches for the Mulberry harbour. After the Second World War, these bridge sections were used elsewhere in France to replace destroyed bridges. The part exhibited here was in use at the bridge over the D56 near the Moselle. In 2019 the bridge was replaced by a new bridge.
Three pontoons were transferred to Saint-Côme-de-Fresné, Tracy-sur-Mer and Arromanches. Two others were placed in Cattenom and Veckring respectively, on the site of Fort du Hackenberg.
