The memorial to Lieutenant Colonel Driant and his fighters in the Bois des Caures in Beaumont-en-Verdunois.
At the start of the battle, Lieutenant Colonel Driant opposed it with 1,200 fighters from the 56Þ and 59Þ foot fighter battalions, and was killed on February 22, 1916. The command post was classified as a historic monument in 1931.
