Memorial Reverend de Jong

Reverend de Jonglaan refers to Reverend Roelof de Jong. Born in Friesland, but working as a minister in Venlo. He helped people in hiding and was active in the resistance.
He went into hiding in Amsterdam and worked there on underground magazines such as the watchword. After his arrest he was executed in Haarlem. Venlo named the street after him and they made this memorial.
