Crash Site Vickers Wellington III Z1729 Boekel

On the evening of 20 December 1942, a fleet of British bombers (204 aircraft in total) passed over North Brabant to bomb Duisburg. Eleven of these were lost, one of which, Vickers-Wellington III Z1729, KW-T of 425 Squadron, landed in Boekel at 20:13, shot down by a German night fighter flown by Hptm. Werner Streib of I./NJG 1.
