Ammunition Bunkers FA-Bau Fliegerhorst Venlo

These ammunition bunkers are made in FA-Bau. Feldmässiger Ausbau, in other words: built with what was available.
The slogan FA bau meant that a construction was built locally that did not belong to the Regelbau category.
In general, the structures had to provide protection against shrapnel, rifle, machine gun and cannon fire. Service regulations were issued for this purpose by the German army, which were intended to guarantee a standardized construction of this type of construction.
To ensure better protection against bullets and weather influences, the additional construction of reinforced concrete structures was recommended.
There are still 13 of this type in the immediate vicinity. Very logical in itself, since the ammunition depot was also located on this part of the Südlager of the Fliegerhorst.
