Memorial Cemetery Destelbergen

At the cemetery in Destelbergen, next to the place of honor of the former combatants, there is a memorial for the two world wars.

It consists of three large stones on which small copper nameplates are applied.
At the top of the middle part is the text:
"Peace with the winds of time
flee years fleeing.
We must not forget
that we today
reap the rewards
of trees that
back in the days
are planted. "

Below the nameplates is the Belgian tricolor:
Municipality of Destelbergen
honors its war heroes"

There is another plaque in front of the memorial:
"It is difficult
to save the time.

In a moment
is today yesterday
is tomorrow today

November 1, 2018
Nov 1, 2045"
