Remembrance Plate Operation Frankton

This memorial is dedicated to Operation Frankton, an Allied commando raid on German merchant ships in the port of Bordeaux in 1942. Of the 13 men selected for the raid only five survived. The others were either drowned or executed by the Germans. 6 German merchant ships were damaged in the attack.
