Valentinus chapel Westerhoven

the Valentinus chapel in Westerhoven

In 1947 a chapel was built on the banks of the Keersop in Westerhoven in memory of the fallen of the Second World War and in gratitude that Westerhoven had survived the war almost unscathed.

The Valentinus Chapel was built on the foundations of a distant predecessor. Near the famous Valentinusputje on the Keersop. A miraculous well, whose water never freezes

The initiator was the Westerhoven-born priest Mgr. dr. G.P.J. Bannenberg, designed by the architect H.W. falcon.

Every year on May 4, Remembrance Day takes place here.
