Bunker Festung Graudenz - Fort Strzemiecin

Fort Strzemięcin was constructed before the First World War as component of the Grudziądz fortress. It was modernised in 1944 by the Germans and turned into a stronghold. A group of 102 soldiers and 8 officers under command of Captain Friedhausen defended the fort against the Red Army and held out a couple of days until their munition was gone.
