Former Military Emergency Airport Geamăna

In 1940 the Romanian government decided to create an emergency Airport in Geamana with a natural runway without any additional facilities.

It was also briefly used in 1941 by the Luftwaffe, most likely in support of operation Barbarossa.

In 1944 the Airfield was bombed by the Americans but without damaging the actual airfield.

The airfield was transfered to a civilian airfield in 1946.
