Dutch War Graves Buitenpost

This cemetery contains four Dutch war graves:

Keimpe Kooistra, born on 22-07-1897 in Wirdum, died 07-11-1944 in Lutjepost

Folkert Smit, born on 12-01-1908 in Nes, municipality of Dongeradeel, died on 07-11-1944 in Buitenpost
Folkert Smit was auxiliary worker N.S. In connection with the railway strike he was in hiding. On 7 November 1944, he was shot dead by the Germans while trying to go into hiding in the reed bed outside Buitenpost.

Sjouke Stel, born on 22-11-1911 in Twijzel, died on 03-05-1943 in Kollum
Sjouke Stel was executed as a result of the April 1943 May strike.

Thijs Vries, born on 29-09-1899 in Zwaagwesteinde, died on 12-02-1943 in Leusden
Thijs Vries died in Camp Amersfoort.
