Lancaster LL792 Merlin Engine

This Merlin engine was part of the crashed Lancaster (LL792, 476 sqn RAAF).

This Lancaster MkI was shot down by a German night fighter (Olt Lau). Instead of a military camp near Leopoldsburg, the village of Beverlo and surroundings were bombed by accident on the 11th May 1944 with civilian casualties.

The engine was recovered in 2003 and is now on display in the community center 'De Kardijk'.
