In the spring of 1942, HKB 4/706 was installed at Auderville. In the fall of 1943, the battery
was renamed Stützpunkt 351 HKB Stahl. The nickname comes from the commander of the newly created 1st batterie of Heeres-Küsten- Artillerie-Regiment 1262, Oberleutnant Eugen Stahl.
The main armament were six French 15.5 cm K416(f) guns (Canon de 155 L modele 1917
Schneider) in open positions .
Three of these were, in 1944, housed in R679 bunkers because one R679 was still under construction.
The bunkers (R679, R636, R622, R621, R501 and R134) are on private property and can only be seen from a far distance. Permission to enter the property, can be asked at the Lecouvey family.
