Both of them in precarious conditions
demonstrate courage and endurance.
Fled from Belgium to England where they
with fire and courage enlisted as volunteers
into the parachute corps.

Died in
Hansweert Holland
On 31 – 03 – 1944
in performing
a special assignment.

Held and
taken to Germany
where he died a martyr
for the freedom of his country and people
on 01 – 02 – 1945
in the Mauthausen camp.

On the Sea and in inner dike of Hoedekenskerke s'Gravenpolder is at the site of the plane crash in the Westerschelde this monument erected to commemorate Lt. Robert Deprez.
