Memorial Crash Lancaster I W4171-EM-J Mol

On the night of April 26-27, 1943, an air fleet of 557 RAF aircraft was dispatched to attack ground targets. On the way back to their home base at Langar (UK), Lancaster I W4171 with fuselage code EM-J was attacked by a German night fighter. The aircraft crashed in the fields behind the Volmolenbaan.
All crew members lost their lives in the crash.
The victims are buried at the Schoonselhof cemetery in Antwerp.
