Phoenix Goodyear Airport

Phoenix Goodyear Airport opened in 1944 as NAS Lichfield Park. This was an auxiliary airfield of NAS, Terminal Island, San Pedro, CA. Navy aircraft were parked here and were being modified in the adjacent Goodyear Modification Plant. The factory was closed at the end of the war, after which the base became a storage center for the Navy.

There is still an old radio tower from the Second World War on the site.
