Marin City

Marin City was built by the federal government during World War II to house 6,000 employees of the nearby shipyards. Construction work began in 1942. In addition to houses, the project included schools, shopping malls, churches, parks and a sewage system. Marin City is considered one of the best federal housing projects of the war.
