Monument 340 Volksgrenadier Division

Near the intersection of Frankenstraße and Beeker Weg, a cross was placed in 2010 in memory of a 17-year-old soldier Alois Gombert from Kalterherberg-Monschau.
He is in the fighting a few hours before his comrades went into American captivity. His body has never been found.
This cross also reminds of all fallen and missing soldiers of the 340. Volks Grenadier-Division.
