Indies monument Delft

The 'Indies Monument' was erected in memory of sixteen Delft soldiers who fell in the former Dutch East Indies during the period 1940-1945.
It consists of a granite memorial plaque of 60 cm high and 80 cm wide, bricked into an old wall around one of the gardens of the Prinsenhof.
The memorial was unveiled on August 4, 1994.

The plaque reads:
"For order and peace
1945 - 1950
We remember the Delft soldiers who fell in the former Dutch East Indies "

Below, in 3 columns, the names of the 16 victims:
P. v. Beek - J. Brehm - W. de Bruin - A. Esders - W. Huisman - P. den Hertog –
H. Hunnego - J. Jung - A.H. Margins - G.P. v. Rijn - C. Slierendregt - P.K. Stam -
R. v. Stolk - G. v.d. Spek - A.M. Valkenburg - H.F. v. Zelm.
