Stumbling Stone Moliusstraat 20

A HUMAN BEING IS FORGOTTEN ONLY WHEN HIS NAME IS FORGOTTEN'
(Talmud)

Here in Den Bosch one Stumbling Stone was laid in April/May, 20223 for:

ROSE JAKOBS.

Rose Jakobs had fled from Germany to the Netherlands with her family in 1938. They lived in Den Bosch for some time. During the war, the family went into hiding near Nijmegen. She kept a diary there for two years. When the Allied troops have reached Arnhem in October 1944, Rose Jakobs dares to leave her hiding place. She is hit by a shrapnel and dies of her injuries.

The diary of Rose Jakobs was published in 1999:
R. Jakobs and E. Samuel-Jakobs, Rose Jakobs: The rose that never bloomed. Diary of a woman in hiding (1942-1944) (Amsterdam 1999).
