The farm dates back to 895 when the first monks started to build the farm.
The quarry nearby was used for raw materials.
The farm was later fortified and became a part of the defence system around the city of Soissons.
The location was a prominent one and gave a perfect view on valley of the Aisne.
In September 1914 the Germans took the farm and the same night they leaved.The French army took over the farm without a battle.
A day later the the farm was destroyed during the battle with the Germans and there use of artillery.

In 1999 the remains of fourteen French soldiers were found here.
