This park commemorates the victims of concentration camp Topovske Šupe, which was located nearby at the time of World War II. The camp, which was run by the Gestapo, aided by Serbian collaborators, was in operation from August to December 1941. Of the 5,000 to 6,000 prisoners held here, 4,300 were murdered. The prisoners included Jews and alleged anti-fascists.
