Crashsite Avro Lancaster 300th Squadron

On this crash site is a memorial to the killed Polish crew of an Avro Lancaster bomber of the 300th Squadron, 1st Bomber Command Group of the Royal Air Force. The aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed in the area on August 14, 1944, killing the seven Polish airmen. They are buried in the Grainville-Langannerie Polish Cemetery.
