The Jewish cemetery of Svitavy (Zwittau in German) was inaugurated in 1892. During the German occupation of the Czechia, most of the town's Jews were murdered in concentration and extermination camps. The cemetery was largely destroyed between 1938 and 1945 and after. In 2000, the cemetery was handed back to the Jewish community in Prague. A few tombstones remain and there is a monument.
