This is bloc Jonckay of Fort Battice at Battice, Belgium.
This post contained 2 auxiliary ventilation systems and a turret of type F.M., Fusile-Mitrailleur, and thus equipped with a machine gun. The turret shows battle damage. A shell has ricocheted off the turret.
The two armored dome portion of the roof contain a retractable air intake. These were manually operated with cables. pulleys and counterweights. They could be extended 18 meters. The air intake will have been in use particularly at night during wartime operations. During the day it would be an easy target.
A similar ventilation system was installed in Bloc Waucomont. Bloc Waucomont was the wartime entrance of Fort Battice.
