The Test Center Rechlin was a location where technicians and engineers from all over Germany were sent to work in 4 different sections. Each section (Gruppe) had its own specialty: Nord (administration, laboratories), Süd (engine testing), Ost (ammunition, weapons) and West (technical company, barracks).
In 1939, engineers tested the Heinkel He 178 - the first jet engined aircraft at Rechlin.
