On the hill of the 516 meter high Ottenberg, north of Nettersheim-Zingsheim, the blown-up ruins of a former full-fledged anti-aircraft post have been preserved. They are the remains of facilities from the World War II "Western Air Defense Zone".
The anti-aircraft emplacement, which included five double group shelters (so-called "F-stands" for 18 men each), five gun emplacements and an equipment emplacement, was blown up in July 1946.
