Defense Bunker Ag1 Argenteau

Bunker Ag 1 is the first bunker of sector Argenteau of the 2nd line of defense for the city of Liège. Le Position Fortifiée de Liège 2, PFL 2.

The sector consists of 10 bunkers in the region Richelle and Argenteau, From thes 10 bunkers only 6 remain. Bunkers Ag 3, 6 and 10 were demolished after the war when they were no longer of military use. Bunker Ag 9 is located at a private plot.

Bunker Ag 1 defended the road from Saint-Rémy to Richelle and was equipped with a searchlight, a 47 mm anti-tank canon and a machinegun.

Sector Argenteau borders to the north at sector Visé. Bunker Ag 10 was only 300 meters apart from bunker Visé 1 (Vi 1) .

The nearest bunker is Ag 2 is at 600 meters in an orchard.
