Museum of the Second Session of the AVNOJ

The Museum of the Second Session of the AVNOJ is one of the few museums in Europe dedicated to anti-fascism as a world phenomenon. It was established in 1953 as a central, Yugoslavian, museum, memorial institution that will research, collect, preserve, exhibit and publish historical material related to the narrower and broader domains of the subject of this historical session.
On November 29 and 30, 1943, the second session of the Anti-Fascist Council of the People's Liberation of Yugoslavia (AVNOJ) was held in this building with the participation of 142 council members, and where representatives of the territory of present-day Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, North -Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia, decided on the construction of Yugoslavia. on federal principles with full equality of its peoples and nationalities.
