This memorial complex is dedicated to the Soviet defenders of Murmansk and is located on the former front line. At the beginning of the siege, the Litsa valley was called "Death Valley" by the Soviets; though it was later changed in "Valley of Honor". Thousands of soldiers lost their lives here in the tundras on both sides of the river. There are currently aprox. 3.000 Soviet soldiers buried here on a small war cemetery.
