In front of the church of Ovillers-La-Boisselle, which is located on the left of the D20 to Contalmaison, is the memorial to the 19th (western) division. This is in the shape of a stone cross, with a butterfly on the top (which was the emblem of the division). The 19th Division attacked la Boiselle in the early morning of 2 July 1916 and managed to capture most of the village, although the Germans still had a line running through the church.
