Memorial 16th Irish Division and 36th (Ulster) Division

Text on the monument :
"In memory of the men of the 16th Irish Division and 36th Ulster Division who fought alongside each other near this place during the Battle of Langemarck 16 - 18 August 1917. It was the last battle in which two Irish Divisions fought together in the First World War.
Also remembered are all Irish soldiers who fought in Irish and non-Irish regiments and their non-Irish comrades who fought in Irish formations during the Third Battle of Ypres (Passchendaele), 31 July - 10 November 1917."

There is also a remembrance plaque in memory of Father Willie DOYLE, chaplain of the 8th Bn Royal Dublin Fusiliers, who died during the fighting at Langemark on 16 August 1917.
